SOULS OF THE DEAD

A young Seattle woman gets a small tattoo of a rose in memory of her dead fiancé and, when it begins changing on its own, she’s drawn into a supernatural murder mystery that leads her to the family she’s never known she had, a new lover who may be a murderer, and a battle to save herself and those she loves from a fate more terrifying than death.

Colonel Vasili Kutznetsov, once the respected commander of an elite Soviet Spetsnaz unit, now he finds himself adrift in the competitive capitalism of New York City. In a last desperate bid to salvage a life, he leads a band in a daring hijack of a Hudson River ferry carrying the sister of the head of the De Beers diamond cartel to ransom her and the other passengers for a fortune in diamonds.

 

The hijackers are confronted by the FBI, the Department of Homeland Security, the Coast Guard, the NYPD and the NY Port Authority police as they collect the ransom and carry out their escape. But it’s Amos Brod, a rumpled ex-cop private detective working for the American Diamond Bourse, along with his police detective girlfriend, Colleen Londrigan, who take center stage in bringing down the hijackers.
