Walk-About Ad concept for Outback Steakhouse or another Australian eatery
A weathered aboriginal man stands in the outback looking at the rocks with their ancient drawings of his ancestors, primitive, almost alien looking.
He scans the vast and desolate landscape for something unseen and says out loud, “Walk-About.”
He sets off walking.
The sun blazes down on him as he walks though the forbidding lands. Kangaroos move in the distance. Lizards and snakes watch warily as he goes past.
In a darkened sky, lightning flashes from billowing thunderclouds ahead. He looks at the spectacle that is beginning to drop thick raindrops on him, and he says again “Walk-About” and heads into the maelstrom.
Tourists at Ayres Rock point him out to one another as he marches along in the distance.
Worn from his quest, he is looking weary; but he gathers himself and pushes on.
The sea crashes, the beautiful ocean a welcome respite from the dry and forbidding lands he’s been moving through; but he only glances at the ocean and says again with resolution, “Walk-About.”
He’s moving at the edge of a road now, in more civilized country, but he’s still on his Walk-About.
Then he spies it ahead of him, his whole body lightening as he stops and stares with relief and delight at his destination finally in sight.
An Outback Steakhouse/Walkabout Café.
He hurries towards the restaurant.
At a table, he smiles broadly as his meal is laid before him by the attractive waitress.
“Thank you,” he says to her then adds, “Walk-About a success.”
She smiles and nods and leaves him to enjoy his meal.
